Roaming with the Rays.png

We are a family-run safari company rooted in Kenya’s wild landscapes — guided by curiosity, creativity, and a deep respect for nature. Together, we bring decades of experience in wildlife guiding, conservation, and pastoral ecology — and a shared belief that true adventure begins when we slow down and reconnect.

We have experience in hosting camps and safaris for families and have recently opened a Nature inspired play cafe in Watamu for those who want to get their little's senses engaged in the natural world.

Kyle Ray — Safari Guide, Herpetologist & Photographer

With over 15 years of experience guiding walking and snake safaris across Kenya, Kyle is known for his rare ability to bring the wild to life — not just through grand encounters, but through the smaller, quieter details often overlooked.A professional snake handler and passionate photographer, Kyle has spent years studying reptiles and leading educational safaris that reveal their importance in Kenya’s ecosystems. His work with the Bio-Ken Snake Farm and conservation outreach projects has made him a respected voice in snake ecology and community awareness. Guiding with calm confidence and endless curiosity, Kyle invites guests to notice what’s easily missed — a track in the dust, the shimmer of a dragonfly’s wing, or the soft pattern of scales in sunlight.

Lara Ray — Artist & Therapeutic Art and Wellness Coach

Lara brings heart, creativity, and a sense of wonder to every experience. An artist and therapeutic arts practitioner, she weaves storytelling, mindfulness, and connection into the safaris and retreats she co-creates. Her approach is intuitive and human-centered — blending art, nature, and emotional well-being to help people feel grounded and inspired by the wild. Whether hosting a rewilding retreat, guiding children’s workshops, or welcoming families into the adventure, Lara helps guests slow down and find beauty in the moment.

Dr. Piers Simpkin (AKA Aguia - Grandpa in Samburu) — Camel Researcher & Pastoralism Expert

A leading authority on camels and dryland ecosystems, Dr. Piers Simpkin has spent over 30 years studying camel behavior, ecology, and the livelihoods of pastoralist communities across East Africa. His pioneering work — through organizations such as FAO, ILRI, and Mercy Corps — has helped shape modern understanding of pastoral resilience and the vital role camels play in sustainable living. When guests walk with our camel teams, they step into a story that Piers has lived and researched for decades — one of coexistence, adaptation, and the deep relationship between people, animals, and the land.

Together As a family, we believe that safaris should do more than observe nature — they should reconnect us to it. Our experiences are designed to inspire curiosity, spark creativity, and celebrate the bond between people, wildlife, and the wild places we share.
